14/07/2011: Rossi: "This Lazio is superior to mine"

Former Lazio manager Delio Rossi spoke to Radio 6 giving his opinion of the 'new' Lazio which is being built. The Coppa Italia winning coach is currently unemployed after a second unsuccessful stint with Palermo but the tactitian is well remembered in Rome for his passion. Rossi was known for celebrating under the Curva Nord and for jumping into a Roman fountain after a Derby win.
What do you think of this Lazio which is being born? It can be considered as the strongest in recent years? "Lazio is now a much more complete squad compared to other years. Before the president bought players on the last days of the mercato, now he is operating in advance. He bought two central strikers, has Zarate, has experienced players and the team espescially has a strong backbone. He changed the goalkeeper and also purchased other important players".
We know Edy Reja has asked you for advice on how to work on the talents of Mauro Zarate. "I spoke with Reja on the phone and he asked me some things about Lazio and then, when we met in Coverciano, Zarate asked me".
What is the problem with Zarate, what has happened in recent times? "His problem is, in my opinion, his entourage. The guy is awesome, he trains outside work hours, then goes onto the field without reins, you cannot ask of him certain things, but it's weakness is also it's strength. By then I was able to get him to work well without the ball".
Klose-Cisse, seems to be the new partnership in attack of Lazio. Can they play together? "I think of the two strikers only one can play, but I'm not Reja, maybe he will find a solution to play both strikers together".
Is it true Sabatini contacted you to coach Roma? Would you accept? "With Sabatini, I have known him for many years and with regard to Roma, I can only say that I am a professional and I have to look at the project. It is clear that my past with Lazio is important but I would be lying to say that I would not accept a project like that of Roma, I always speak that I am a professional".
