17/07/2011: Auronzo di Cadore: Day Eleven
email print

Following the arrival of President Claudio Lotito and Sporting Director Igli Tare, life at Auronzo got a touch more official today. The first task on the agenda was to gather on the field and pose for official photographs which will presumably hit the official website in due course.

However, the players did not get the morning off. They were back training by 10am and were pushed to the max as they were forced to sprint a distance of 15 metres dragging a sled carrying suitable weights. Absent from the session was Lorik Cana, who has been ill recently and has been confirmed as suffering from tonsillitis.

Some interesting events occurred in training. Set-pieces were worked on heavily with Reja coming down quite harshly on Cisse whom the coach wants to operate more centrally. The Frenchman also participated in a penaslty shootout with Hernanes, which may go some way to deciding if Cisse becomes the regular taker. On this occasion, Djibril won as Berardi saved from Hernanes.

In the afternoon, the new stars of Lazio were presented to the media and gave interviews. LazioLand will be bringing these interviews to you soon.

As previously reported, Lazio demolished Union Ripa 8-0 in the evening session. It was Lazio's first serious friendly, if there is such a thing, and it conjured up an encouraging result. Interestingly, Reja fielded two completely different teams and on paper, it appeared to be and "A" and a "B" team. With four goals apiece, it seems this new Lazio has real depth.

Late in the evening, this new Lazio was presented to the media in full. Coverage of the event will be provided soon by LazioLand.
