08/08/2011: Reja: "We are growing well"
email print
Lazio coach Edy Reja spoke to il Corriere dello Sport last night after the 2-0 win over Aris Saloniki.

"Against the Greeks we started well, with good intensity which is what I asked of the boys. We are growing, I wanted to see this. I lowered the pace of physical work, the legs are lighter and we must continue to play games".

Djibril Cisse had an impressive game last night and there has been much debate on where to field him espescially as Reja prefers a 4-2-3-1 formation. "Cisse played very well. I tried him as a striker, but I prefer to start him from further back, with his power he becomes devastating when attacking from deep".

Another new signing Senad Lulic had a solid game playing in a more unusual position to what many believe he was purchased for. The young Swiss played behind Rocchi alongside Cisse and Mauri on the right and did well. "Lulic played very well, he took an extraordinary step and has progressed well. He can play on both sides but I prefer him on the right. He plays a more natural game on the right. He still needs time, I worked with him very little as he had an injury. He has recovered and I played him".
