27/08/2011: Cana: "I want to end my career here"
email print
Lorik Cana spoke to Infopress after the game with Rabotincki and outlined his happiness at having arrived at Lazio despite not being garaunteed a starting place.

"I will never stop thanking the club from believing in me, I came to Rome, the capital of Italy and I signed a 5 year deal. I want to end my career here." said an euphoric Cana.

The Albanian knows that his place is not garaunteed in the starting line up:

"I know I don't have a garaunteed starting place, but we are an excellent group and we are training hard. It is normal that after Lazio invested heavily in this year's mercato, that no one will have a garaunteed start. But I am confident that I will find a place, we are playing on many fronts, and everyone will have a place at times."

The player was welcome by laziali mostly due to his display of passion in the field, and the Albanian enjoyed the Lazio fans:

"The fans are wonderful, they welcomed me well and asked me to beat Roma. It seems that to them it is more important than winning Serie A. Anyhow I believe we can do it." laughed Cana.

Cana has played the second leg fixture against Rabotincki in Albania, but is now looking forward to the start of Serie A:

"Now we are getting to the serious part, we are facing Milan in the opening round, but our real focus is the Europa League." said Cana.

The game in Macedonia though was a chance for the player to visit his family:

"I met my grandmother's family, playing in Macedonia is like playing at home, I always come for Christmas to Macedonia, the people welcomed us, it was very important." concluded Cana.

The player will be playing against France in the Euro 2012 qualifiers:
"I have played with Marseille and PSG, I know the country and the players well. It will be a very tough game, but we Albanians never give up !"
