31/08/2011: Zarate on his way to Inter
email print
Lazio has reached an agreement with Inter over transfer of striker Mauro Zarate. The move comes as a surpise as Inter looked set to sign Rodrigo Palacio from Genoa, but surprisingly turned to Zarate on the last day of the transfer window.

Zarate joined Lazio in 2008 on loan, before making his move permanent in 2009. At Lazio, he won Coppa Italia and Suppercoppa in 2009, becoming a fan favourite. However, since Edy Reja became the manager of Lazio, it was clear that Reja and Zarate doesn't have the best of relationships. According to Corriere dello Sport, Lazio will recieve 2.7 million euros for loan, and Inter will have the right to purchase Zarate on a permanent basis for another 15.5 million.
