14/09/2011: Becali: "Stefan loves Lazio and has told me he wants to be here for life"

Radio Mana Mana have spoken to Ioan Becali, the agent of Stefan Radu to talk about the young defender in addition to finding out a bit more about our opponents in the Europa League tomorrow night; FC Vaslui. The Romanian team have just beaten Dinamo Bucharest who currently hold the league title, and they will come to Rome confident that they can take something from the game. Despite their form, Becali has faith in Lazio.

"Vaslui have a high average age and players with experience and quality, such as Lucian Sanmartean who has played in Greece and made his debut with the national team at a young age. Wesley and Adailton are also important players. They are a solid group with three or four classy players but Lazio are the favourites."

"They play 4-4-2 which they tailor for individual opponents. Against Lazio, I think they will play 4-5-1 and use Wesley as the link between midfield and attack."

One of the stories of the summer was the end to the Radu contract saga. Becali did not hesitate to speak about his client:

"Many months have now passed since the death of Stefan's father and we can only hope his knee problems are cured soon. When they do, Radu will be a central figure at Lazio and will aim for the captaincy. Stefan loves Lazio and has told me that he wants to be here for life."

Becali also spoke about the transfer market:

"Lazio were close to Sapunaru (FC Porto full-back) but he cost too much and Lazio do not sell defenders to buys defenders that cost more (a statement that suggests Sapunaru was valued above the 10 million price that was agreed for Lichtsteiner). There are still debts at Lazio, Lotito has to pay them and he does well with this, ensuring financial stability in the club."

Becali went on to identify Marius Alexe as a possible option for Lazio in the future:

"We are in permanent contact with Lotito and the next player Lazio could get is Marius Alexe, who is actually in Rome to recover from injury but will return in 10-15 days. He is in the Under-21 national team and has made his debut for Romania. He is like Torje (Udinese's latest signing from Romania), but is of a greater build at 1.87m. He reminds me of Bergkamp but is more athletic. He is valued at 4 million euro and with some patience, we could reach a deal with Lotito."
