20/09/2011: Reja "I go on but the discomfort remains"
email print
Lazio coach Edy Reja spoke to la Repubblica about his resignation, which was rejected, and the situation he faces in Rome.

"I go on but the discomfort remains. Do you know what I feel uncomfortable with working in an environment like this? The picture is good but the frame is fact it's a bit worm eaten. There is another problem at Lazio, I must not only win, I must win big. I had the comfort of the President and there is a positive evaluation of the team. Let us go forward on this road until the end of the season when the results will arrive. When I am criticised I do an evaluation of my conscience".

Edy Reja offered his resignation last night after reaching boiling point over his relationship with the Lazio fans. Lotito however rejected his resignation. Reja's relationship with the tifosi reached rock bottom following the loan move of Zarate to Inter.

"Inside we know what the situation is and so does Mauro. I always said he has an extraordinary talent, but he has to look further for stimulus. I don't know why, maybe it's my fault. Since I arrived he did not give me what he had given earlier".

The last 3 games have seen Lazio concede 6 goals, exploiting defensive worries. Reja responded "If we conceded alot of goals then there is a problem. Obviously there is something that needs to be corrected, but we are only at the beginning of the season. One loss is evaluated in an exaggerated way, although some questions came up, a few corrections definately can be found".

Lazio play away to Cesena tomorrow.
