01/10/2011: Former Laziali give advantage to Fiorentina

Two Former Laziali from two different eras were asked about their thoughts concerning the upcoming game in Firenze against the Viola, and both Liverani and D'Amico thought Fiorentina have the upper hand.

Fabio Liverani who played also at Fiorentina was interviewed by and Liverani said:

"Fiorentina have a good team and they are very competitive. This year has started in a better way than the last, and their game with Napoli showed how strong their squad is. They are aggressive and strong, and I was very impressed."

Asked about Lazio, Liverani was less than happy with the team but believes they can pick up their form:

"The team is not getting the right results, even in the game against Sporting, they were good, but there were some incidents which affected the game. The team is strong and with time when the results come things will change and the mentality will improve."

Asked for a prediction about the game, Liverani was coy:
"We cannot give a prediction, it will be a strong encounter that will be beautiful to watch, you need to have a very strong squad to be able to get points from Artemio Franchi, but in football everything is possible. Fiorentina are better on paper, but Lazio will have to recover physically as well as mentally to be able to do something."

Former Laziale Vincenzo D'Amico, who won the Scudetto with Lazio and also was a former Viola player, spoke to Radio Lady about the upcoming encounter between his two former teams:

"The game means to me as I had good times with both teams. Lazio are not performing well, and after losing a game it is useless to blame it on referees and bad luck. The team made lots of predictions about finishing top, but it seems that even great players like Klose and Cisse cannot fight for the Scudetto. As for Hernanes, he seems to be still on holidays in Brazil. As for Fiorentina, they have players from another class and can win games individually. Fiorentina can move to the top if they continue on this track."
