  01/10/2011: Behrami insults Lotito again
email print
Valon Behrami has launched a stinging attack on Lazio. The naturalised Swiss midfielder, now at Fiorentina could not hide his feelings when interviewd by Corriere dello Sport. In the past, he threatened to leave Lazio under the very controversial Article 17 before continually expressing his desire to join Lazio's bitter rivals, AS Roma.

Speaking about his transfer to West Ham, Behrami said the following:

"I never changed my mind (about going to West Ham). Lotito knew it was better to get as much money as possible and made the deal with West Ham. Several teams that I had tried to join suddenly disappeared."

Having watched Lazio play Sporting on Thursday, Behrami was nothing short of flippant:

"Yes, I saw the game, they created a couple of chances but to be honest, I don't care about Lazio."

On Rocchi in his quest for 100:

"He is among the most dangerous attackers out there. He was inconsistent (on Thursday), that was his greatest problem."

Behrami will be tasked with keeping Cisse at bay, but Valon is also concerned about Hernanes:

"It is not only Cisse but Hernanes is dangerous too. Cisse is very strong, to ignore his physical game would be stupid. If you go to war with him, you have already lost. As with Hernanes, he is unpredictable."

When asked about his best memory at Lazio, Behrami was vague:

"The 2005/06 season. It was a young squad, but we had a very good season."

Behrami claims to have no regrets about anything but when asked about Lotito, he was less than polite:

"Unhappy people seek to humiliate you. I cannot deal with such people."

To make matters worse, he called his current president 'a gentleman'. Finally, he was asked to describe Lazio in one word and that word was 'confusing'.
