“Matuzalem will not be disqualified. We are calm. Zaragoza want to pay compensation to Shaktar as the court will determine” – said the Brazilian’s agent Umberto Fusco on Radio Sport Mana Mana 24.
“Zaragoza has made steps to avoid bankruptcy and asked the court to help them. They proposed a rescue plan to all creditors, including Shaktar. The Spanish club have offered a plan to the Ukrainians, but an agreement was never reached and now Shaktar could have only half of the sum. That is why they have informed FIFA the hand a penalty to the Spanish. The Spanish football federation is not happy to give such a sanction to the club” – added Fusco.
Francelino Matuzalem da Silva joined Lazio in 2008 from Spanish team Real Zaragoza. Before joining Zaragoza he played in Shaktar Donetsk. In 2007 Matuzalem left the Ukrainian team with a scandal terminating his contract unilaterally. After going to Spain Shaktar started legal action against the player and the team. Since then there is controversy surrounding the player.
