Lazio Striker Djibril Cisse has expressed to L'Equipe his gratitude for the fans in France's game against Albania.

Cisse who came in at the 80th minute, received a standing ovation as all of the fans in the Stade de France welcomed him with applause.

Speaking to L'Equipe, Cisse was more than happy:

"Everything was beautiful, I have had many difficulties with the French FA in the past, and when you see a ray of hope like tonight, it cannot but feel very good. You wonder why the fans welcomed me with such enthusiasm ? I am not sure, but maybe they know how much I love my country, how many times I expressed my wish to represent the country and wear the blue jersey. I think the fans appreciate my love for France."
