With most of the players waiting anxiously for the derby some of the players were involved in some decisive matches for their countries tonight..

Senad Lulic:
Lulic started tonights group final in Paris. Only a win were good enough for Bosnia to win the group. Lulic played the full 90 minutes on the left wing instead of his usual position at left back. Bosnia surprisingly took the lead in the first half with a goal from Edin Dzeko. Lulic was the player who won a free kick for Bosnia ahead of the goal. Unfortunately for Bosnia, France scored on a penalty and the game ended in a draw. Lulic and Bosnia will now have to play two qualifying games in november since the finished second in the group.

Lorik Cana:
As usual Cana captained his side in a game where neither team had anyone but honor to play for. Cana, playing as a centre back saw his team mate Salihi give Albania the lead in the 24th min. but then after 77. min. they couldn't keep a clean sheet anymore when Luchin equalized and the game ended in a draw.

Marius Stankevičius:
Like Cana, Stankevicius also captained his side from a centre back position at home against Czech Republic. Their oponent had everything to play for since they needed a win to get the second place in the group. Stankevicius and his team mates couldn't do anything against the determined Czech players and lost 4-1 in the end.

Djibril Cissé:
Spent the entire game on the bench and didn't get to play against his team mate Lulic, but was happy to see his country win their group.

Miroslav Klose:
Was sent back to Rome this morning after some pain in his knee. Klose is now fighting against time to get fit before the derby.

Hernanes:
Replaced Ronaldinho in the 94th minute in Brazils 2-1 win over Mexico.

Alvaro Gonzalez:
Was brought on in the 67th minute to help Uruguay secure a win, but saw Paraguay equalize in stoppage time.
