16/10/2011: Reja: "I hope this win brings peace"
email print
Edy Reja has won Roma for the first time in his career as a coach, and the tactician was more than happy.

Speaking to Sky in the post match press conference, Reja said: "I thought the game would end in a draw. When you see all those chances, shots hitting the post, and the ball would not go in ! Finally it did, and I hope we continue after this derby with peace now. We are second in the standings, a point from the top and this is where we have to start now. Their goal was strange, we had practiced all week to avoid such mistakes in marking, but after their goal we came back to be the Lazio we know. The penalty of course helped us. I am happy, we beat a great team, and now I know that the derby will not be enough for the fans, but we have to continue the journey that we started last year together. I would like the team to play with more intensity, but you cannot have everything. We did well in midfield today. As for Cisse, everytime I think of substituting him, he has a great chance, he is this type of player, he can do something extraordinary in one chance, and this is why I keep him on the field."

Reja was expelled from the game by Tagliavento: "Well he warned me not to leave the coaching area, but I could not help it, it was the spur of the moment."

Asked about the penalty, Reja said: "To me it was a penalty, but I will leave the analysis to you."

Finally we kill the demon...Great day but with this win Reja saved his job. Im not his biggest fan He is still on a short leash in my books and has to grow from this win. No conservative football with 20 minutes to go and pull off a striker when the game is tied. We must go for wins. We are Lazio. Non Mollare Mai!!
