  18/10/2011: Klose to 2014?
email print
In an interview with Kicker! magazine, derby hero Miroslav Klose has stated a desire to remain with Lazio for a further three years.

"All being well, I stay at Lazio until 2014, then the World Cup and then I end. Anyone who knows me knows my ambitions."

Klose originally joined Lazio to find sufficient playing time to force his way back into the Germany setup following two very troublesome seasons at Bayern Munich. Claudio Lotito has revealed that he could have joined Milan but opted for Lazio and that he would also hope Klose could stay for three more years:

"I hope he can continue at this level for another three years. He is a fantastic player and a true professional. He could have gone to Milan, fortunately he chose not to."

Lotito also stated that he will be prepared to reinforce the squad in January if it is deemed necessary.

Tare has also reveal his stalker-like observation of Klose:

"I have been paying close attention to him for two years as I began to consider the possibility of bringing him to Rome and I made use of this time. History and figures speak for him, I know his character and his desire to succeed."

Klose has deceptive speed, great vision and movement that more than makes every defender leery. He is also very strong and holds the ball up with great confidence, while waiting for support to arrive. I must say he has inserted himself quickly into the lineup and made many of us forget Zarate & Floccari. The link up with Cisse is starting to show. I hope to see more with Hernanes. If Lazio spread the defense with more aggressive forward runs by Konko, Lulic/Radu and also Gonzales & Mauri, it will open up wide channels for both Klose & Cisse. We have seen more crosses reach the intended heads of both Cisse & Klose this year already than we saw all of last year with Floccari & Kozak. Reminds me of the days with Vieri & Crespo. So far so good. Need to keep the pace against Bologna. Forza Lazio. Non Molare Mai!!
