After scoring his 100th goal for the club in the 3-0 victory against Cagliari, the captain Tommaso Rocchi has recieved praises from teammates, coaches and opponents. Rocchi spoke about his achivement at a press conference at Formello today:

"To reach 100 goals was a goal I set at the beginning of this adventure. After many years on the field I was finally able to achieve it, and it gives me great satisfaction. Now I have to set new goals, the first one will be to catch up to Giordano (108 goals for Lazio) because he is the closest one. I have recieved so many message from people, and several calls I have not been able to respond too. I apologize to those, but yesterday I simply had to take a day off and try to relax."

The striker also thanked some players, like Mauri, Ledesma, Di Canio etc. that has helped him reach his goal: "They have all been important, and some of them still are. Every season I have always had someone on the field that has helped me score. I thank them all equally. One assist I remember very well is when Mauri gave me the ball against Inter in the Super Cup Final in China. Now the collective goal is to continue forward with Lazio. We need continuity to the results obtained so far. We have a competitive team now."

Not surprisingly, Rocchi had a relaxing day when celebrating his 100th: "I have been celebrating with my wife and children. It has been a quiet day. I am very happy here in Rome. There has not been a single moment in recent years were I have thought about leaving Lazio. It is true teams have been interested, but I never had any desire to leave."

Rocchi's 100th goal came in almost the perfect way. Right after he entered the field he gave Cristian Ledesma a sign on a Lazio free kick and just like he wanted Ledesma passed the ball to him: "I saw the opportunity. I have to thank Ledesma. It is clear that I want more chances to play in the future. Every player at the club wants to play as much as possible. Still, the most important thing is that the team continue to do well. I will always do my best when I play. It is a long season and many chances for everyone to play.
