02/11/2011: Primavera Coppa: Palermo Lazio 0-0
email print
In the first round of the Primavera TIM Cup the Lazio youngsters traveled to Sicilia in a tricky match against Palermo.

Coach Alberto Bollini decided to field a full strength lineup to try and get a result.

The first half did not result in many chances and ended with neither team putting the ball in the net.

The second half started the worst possible way for Lazio. In the 53th minute the lithuanian centreback Vilkaitis pulled down a Palermo attacker. Vilkaitis was given a red card by the referee and Palermo was awarded a penalty. The Paraguayan striker Jara Martinez who was also the one to be fouled stepped up in an attempt to beat Lazio goalkeeper Mosciatti, but he sent the ball over the crossbar.

After this Bollini's boys had to play almost the entire second half with ten men but they managed to hold out and will surely be happy about going back to Rome with a draw.

The second leg will be played in Formello on November 23th.

: Mosciatti, Serpieri, Salustri, Crescenzi, Vilkaitis, Zampa, Ceccarelli, Onazi, Rozzi, Cilfone, Barreto. (Di Piero, Oddo, Fagioli, De Francesco, Monteforte, Tira, Emmanuel)
