While the news of the operation going well is a relief to all the fans of Stefano, the disturbing news comes to the laziali faithful who will learn that Mauri will not be returning to action before 3 to 4 months according to Italian media.

The operation was peformed in Munich by Dr. Stefan Hinterwimmer in the presence of Lazio's team doctor Stefano Salvatori.

The loss of Mauri creates a big hole for lazio to fill. Lulic will be given every opportunity to play in a 4-3-3 formation as a midfielder. Please, please, please do not let hm play fullback. There is also potential that Sculli will get more time in this role (or even Cisse at times). If Lazio are to continue playing well we MUST go out in the january transfer window and buy the players we should have acquired in the summer. 1: Radu has shown to be injury prone. We need 1st and foremost another alternative to him at LB. Too bad Ziegler is gone. Would have been a good low cost backup plan. 2: Another central midfielder to spell off Ledesma and Brocchi is needed. Matuz is injury prone and smallish. Cana has shown he does not belong on our team (bad pickup in the Muslera sale!!). 3: Another central defender is needed. Biava (often injured) and Dias are getting older and cannot play every game. Diakite is not bad but wildly erratic at times and needs to settle down with a good partner. Stendardo is rubbish and needs to go but has a high wage bill which scares off any possible suitors. 4: Send Kozak out on load somewhere to get good playing time and build him for the future If we make these moves we will be able to compete for a top 3 finish and possible Champions League qualification. Forza Lazio, Non Mollare Mai!!
