07/11/2011: Gonzalez: "We must work hard to stay at the top"

In the mix zone after Lazio - Parma midfielder Alvaro Gonzalez spoke to the press. Replacing Hernanes in the second half Gonzalez is finally back from injury and is available to coach Edy Reja again: "It was difficult to get the victory today. Parma is a good team, and they made it hard for us to play Klose. We are happy that we are first in the standings, it is nice to be on the top. This result shows that it is difficult to beat us and that we are a quality team."

Gonzalez tried to give a answer to why the team is looking better on the road, compared to home at Olimpico: "I can not tell you why we are better away. We hope that not all matches at Olimpico will be like this one, because today Parma we faced a really good Parma that gave us trouble, even in front of our own goal. Personally, it is nice to be back but I still feel some pain in my knee, but I can say that my calf is fully recovered."

Despite being injured and not playing for Lazio lately El Tata still got a call-up for Uruguay and will play in the WC Qualifiers against Chile and in a friendly against Italy on Stadio Olimpico:

"I will play against Chile, but right now I am only thinking about today's victory. We really wanted to win today and it is nice to succeed. To win on a day when you are not playing well is a strength for a team that wants to stay at the top. We want to stay at the top for a long time, perhaps until the end. Right now we are living the dream, but we must work hard to keep it up. Maybe our hard work will be rewarded with a scudetto."
