With January approaching media have stepped up the reports on possible movements during the transfer period. One of the latest names connected to Lazio has been Javier Saviola, today owned by Benfica.

The player’s agent, Diego Queiruga, spoke on the matter today and stated: “Javier belongs to Benfica and it is the Portuguese that decide the faith of the player. With six months left of his contract they have to act within the near future though, else Saviola has teams interested in his services. Lazio? We can only wait and see, and we should soon know how Benfica prefers to solve the situation”.

The soon 30-year old was once regarded as one of the largest talents in the world, and featured for River Plate, Barcelona, Monaco, Sevilla and Real Madrid before he moved to Benfica in 2009.
