17/11/2011: "Lucas Castro not good enough for Lazio"
email print
With the winter market opening soon several players have been linked to Lazio lately. LaLazioSiamoNoi spoke to Jose Alberti, an expert on South American football on one of the names, Lucas Castro:

"He is just an ordinary player. He would not make a difference for Lazio. In the past I talked to Lazio about another Lucas though. Two years ago I called Lotito about Lucas Moura from Sao Paolo. Lazio could have bought him for 300-400 thousand euros, now he is worth 32 millions. He is only 19 and has already played for the National Team. Lazio decided to go for Hernanes instead, who is also a player of international level."

Alberti was also the first person to propose Mauro Zarate to the club:

"Lazio have a great team, and will undoubtedly finish in the top three. However, Maurito did the mistake of his life with this transfer. I am very sorry for him. When he arrived in Rome he was crazy about the city and the fans, then he was chased away. Luckily, he found a new home with Inter. I am sure that in two years he will finally explode. He is still young, but there is still room for improvements. He is one of the strongest strikers in Serie A. He has not had much luck with coaches since he arrived in Italy. Under Delio Rossi he was met with much skepticism. Then came Ballardini and he also spoke about Zarate. With Reja there was even more problems. He did his best, even if he was not played in his natural position. Let us just say that some people do not like players like Mauro, but to me they should not be in the world of football."
