  26/11/2011: Primavera: Lazio - Roma 3-3 (2-3)

The Lazio Primavera team hosted Roma in the highly anticipated derby at Formello today. As many expected the match was highly entertaining with two teams who only wanted to attack. It started in the worst possible was for Lazio. Roma took the lead after only 5 minutes witha  goal from Ciciretti. In the 17th minute Gonzalo Barreto managed to beat the Roma defence, and alone with their goalkeeper Pigliacelli he made no mistakes. It only took Roma 1 minute to answer, and the Laziodefence was caught off guard when Roma again took the lead with Leonadri. Then after 23 minutes the promising Caprari made it even worse. Before half time Barreto again showed his positioning when he found himself alone with the Roma goalkeeper again, and gave the biancocelesti some new hope.


In the second half, Lazio struggled to find the net. The goal finally came in the 88th minute with a header from Cilffone. It didn't matter that captain Luca Crescenzi was sent off right after that, the match ended with a highly entertaining draw.

With this result Lazio are still one point behind their eternal rivals.Next Saturday, the team will travel to Ascoli to face a team that has picked up 11 points in 10 matches so far.


In other news, after the victory against Palermo in the Coppa Italia,Lazio will face Juventus in the quarter finals.
